DETERMINING WHEEL SIZES: to find the correct size wheel needed for your bicycle, DO NOT measure your wheel! Instead check the TIRE on your bicycle. The size should be molded or printed along the tire itself, and should read something like: 26 X 1.75 This means that your bike has 26 inch wheels, and that the tire is 1.75 inches wide.

Features
  • 600 watt low-maintenance brushless hub motor mounted in wheel, controller unit, lighted thumb throttle, battery pack, battery charger & bicycle rack.

information so far August 20, 2010
Reviewer: tom durrant from kincardine, ON Canada
I just installed the kit and made a horizontal support for the battery and controller just above the pedals.  I phoned to find out if I could mount the battery on it's side so it would be a bit narrower. They can't tell me if it's ok or not. I asked for the manufacturer of the battery. It comes from China is the only answer.  I wasn't emailed when the product was shipped and it sat at a UPS store for a week until I phoned and found out it was already there! The kit is very easy to install and it seems to work just fine. I"m stilll getting plenty of exercise but I can go up hills at a great speed.

conversion kit June 7, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Denver, CO United States
I've had excellent results with a WES bike conversion for more than 5 years.  I converted a Target mountain bike with a front shock.  Only cost has been new SLA batteries about every two years.  Biggest issue is getting the right kind of front fork.  Pinched tubes will not clear the width of the motor.  Need to have flat steel attachments on the inside of the bottom of the fork.  Bike reaches a governed speed of 18-19 mph and can average 16 mph on a flat commute of 8 miles each way on city streets.  My car averages only 20 mph on the same route.

BL 36 Keeps on going! On my 4th year and counting March 13, 2010
Reviewer: Pete McGrath from Florence, AZ United States
I do not need to use an ebike; I choose to.   In 2006, bought the WE 600W 26" BL 36 kit with SLA batts.  Put on a WalMart special $59 -15 spd. bike - without front fork shocks.

Now 2010 and still works perfectly!  No new batts or repl. charger.

Here's the trick:
ALWAYS keep charger indoors.  Remove battpack after EACH ride and immediately place on charger until light goes green.  Disconnect and keep battpack inside until next use.  If you don't use for 2 mos., place on charger until light goes green.     ALWAYS use pedals to "push" off from a stop.  LASTS FOREVER practically.

'06 and '07, I used the bike daily to work (2 mi).  Now I ride with 2 grandkids to Circke K twice a week then cruise around town (love the looks on people's faces when I am going uphill but casually pedal backwards.

WeRElectrified was great & they shipped quickly.  Can't tell you about after sale customer service - NEVER had to use it!

A LOT of fun and gas savings are phenominal.  Go get one!

Reviewer: Dean Nichele from Lauderhill, FL United States
Great Electric Bike Kit. 7 yrs old now with only minor repairs, But right from jump street have issues with parts dept. several times. Paid for 2 day shipping on July 3, 2009 which turned to 4 days before parts arrived We were on vacation and needed bike repaired asap. Was told they would call me back and never did. I called no less than 20 times unable to contact anyone. paid to use a strangers computer in a starbucks and paid for internet access only to be left hanging, trying to expidite and have shipped to other address other than home since vacations dont last forever. Customer svc needs improvement. Did get parts and they work good. Quite alot of aggravtion though.

BL-36 kit May 12, 2009
Reviewer: RickMac from Daytona Beach, FL United States
My kit arrived yesterday. Since I paid close attention to the prerequisites before I bought the kit, installation was a snap, with no surprises. I charged the batteries (SLAs) and went for a spin. It is what I expected it to be. I still get a good workout on the bike, but the electric motor helps tremendously when I finally fizzle out. This is a great kit.
